Merry Christmas to my Eastern Orthodox family and friends! Ukrainian Orthodox people celebrate Christmas Eve Supper (SVIATA VECHERA or "HOLY SUPPER") on January 6th, as it is marked on the Julian calendar. Christmas Eve dinner consists of 12 different meatless dishes and is traditionally eaten when the first star appears in the sky.
