QuickPickleKit.com to benefit
First Responders Children’s Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund for the month of May.
QuickPickleKit.com’s financial support will provide grants to first responders in the following ways:
• hotel rooms so first responders don’t have to go home and jeopardize the safety of their family members and infected first responders can self-quarantine
• provide college scholarships for children with first responder parents who have died due to COVID-19
Andrea Wasko and Meaghan Gilbert, owners of QuickPickleKit.com, learned about the First Responders Children's Foundation's COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund while watching the
FOX Presents The iHeart Living Room Concert for America, hosted by
Elton John. Andrea and Meaghan immediately knew that they wanted to help and sent an email to pledge support.
Andrea and Meaghan are members of the
Estero Bay Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and have been active in supporting several nonprofits including the
UC Davis Veterinary Emergency Response Team which rescues and treats animals during a disaster and the
Jim Deaver Fire Academy Scholarship Fund which supports future firefighters.
Andrea has strong ties to the medical field. Andrea’s Mother,
Georgianna, whose recipes were used in the Quick Pickle Kit and Spice Packets, is a retired nurse. Andrea has worked for several companies including Eli Lilly and Guidant (Boston Scientific) treating autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases. She has great respect for doctors, nurses and first responders and thanks them for the sacrifice that they make to help others.

US Small Business Administration (SBA) Award for supporting nonprofits and schools, reducing food waste and providing jobs for disabled adults. The SBA awarded
Andrea Wasko and
Meaghan Gilbert, owners of Los Osos based
Connoisseur Creations, Inc., their Small Business Persons of the Year Award. This was a “Big Dill” for San Luis Obispo County (SLO) as it is the first time that a business from SLO has received this award. Congressman Salud Carbajal, Keilah Smith, District Director for Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham and SLO County Supervisor Bruce Gibson also presented awards honoring Andrea and Meaghan.
Looking back, Meaghan Gilbert states “WOW - What a difference a year makes! Last year, we supported organizations that assisted people and animals effected by fires. No one would have predicted that this year, we would be in the midst of a pandemic. We are grateful that our business model has always included a mission of giving back and helping others.”

Working in the medical field, Andrea saw that many diseases could be prevented if people ate better and exercised. She enjoys developing healthy foods that people will enjoy.
She received her MBA from Golden Gate University and her BS degree from Youngstown State University.
Meaghan Gilbert was born in Hong Kong and spent many years in New Product Development with companies including Apple, Cisco Systems and several others. At Apple, she worked with Steve Jobs and was one of the original 100 Macintosh team members.
Meaghan has over 30 years of strong leadership and innovation experience. Her greatest strengths are in the areas of New Product Development, Program Management, Business Development, Manufacturing, Finance and Engineering.
As a former competitive swimmer, she is interested in healthy foods, has always enjoyed pickles. She was excited about the Quick Pickle Kit and Spice Packets so that she could make her own Safe, Quick, Simple + Natural pickles!
